GivingTuesday is a global celebration of generosity. And at Penn State, it’s a day made for celebrating the We Are spirit. For seven years, students, alumni, faculty, staff, friends, and fans have come together to demonstrate a shared belief in the aspirations of Penn State students and a pride in the accomplishments that put our University community on the map. Last year, more than 10,500 gifts were made to raise over $1 million in less than 48-hours—support that encouraged student efforts across the Commonwealth and demonstrated the power of the Penn State community.
Beginning at 6:55 p.m. on November 28 and running through November 29, Penn State GivingTuesday invites gifts to support more than 155 University initiatives. This year, the College of Information Sciences and Technology is asking alumni and friends to make gifts to the IST Technology Fund, which supports students with demonstrated financial need by helping to offset some or all of the cost to purchase the necessary technology to pursue their degrees. And thanks to a generous $2,500 gift from Elizabeth King ’79 Lib, all gifts to the IST Technology Fund on Giving Tuesday will be matched 1:1, doubling the impact of your donation.
