The Office of the Dean oversees all functions of the college, working closely with the University and IST's faculty, staff, students, partners, and alumni. In all activities, we promote the college’s core values of respect and diversity and underscore the college's mission.
We seek to improve the lives of people in Pennsylvania, the nation, and the world through integrated, high-quality programs in teaching, research, and outreach in the disciplines of the information sciences and technology. The college will be an intellectual community of scholars and students that excels in providing an environment for learning and conducting world-class research focused on the integration of people, information, and technology.

The College of IST’s administrative guidelines outline procedures and processes related to facilities, academic affairs, finances, and other critical activities. A complete list of University policies can be found at policy.psu.edu/policies.
In an effort to provide another avenue for open communication, members of the IST community can submit self-identified or anonymous suggestions related to process improvements through IST's Process Improvement website. These suggestions will be shared by the Office of the Dean with the affected work units to pursue any changes and/or resolve any issues as appropriate.
Faculty and Staff Awards
The College of IST recognizes outstanding faculty and staff annually through its Faculty Staff Awards. Nominations are typically solicited from December to February each year, and winners are announced each spring during a formal ceremony.
