Academic Partnerships

Penn State and the College of Information Sciences and Technology have established special partnerships with several universities and academic units to promote research collaboration and interaction with students and faculty. The partnerships range from general agreements for collaboration (such as an arrangement with SUNY Buffalo related to research and education in multi-sensor data fusion, to contractual relationships on multi-year grants, such as the agreements with Tennessee State University, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and the University of Virginia. These academic partnerships benefit IST by extending our domain of expertise in information sciences and providing opportunities for exchange of ideas, students, and faculty members. A summary of our partnerships is provided below.

We have a special relationship with the Tennessee State University (http://www.tnstate.edu//) via a research grant from the U. S. Army Research Office entitled the Center for Excellence for Battlefield Sensor Fusion (awarded from the U. S. Army's Research Laboratory Center for Excellence for the Battlefield Capabilities Enhancement). Tennessee State University is a Historical Black College/University.

We are a member of the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo Center for Multi-source Information Fusion (CMIF) (http://www.infofusion.buffalo.edu/)

We are collaborating on research with the University of Florida Department of Computer Information Science and Engineering(http://www.cise.ufl.edu/) on a DTRA Knowledge Management task.

We are collaborating on research with the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (http://www.ncat.edu/) via a DTRA Knowledge Management task. North Carolina A&T State University qualifies as a Historical Black College/University.

We continue to collaborate with the University of Virginia (http://www.virginia.edu/) on research in human computer interaction.
