Diversity Outreach and International Engagement
The office of Diversity Outreach and International Engagement in the College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) was established in 2003 to ensure the college's understanding of the issues related to maintaining a diverse and equitable community.
One of our core functions is to develop strategies to recruit and retain students, faculty, and staff from underrepresented groups, including women. This includes working with the Schreyer Honors College and International Programs, closely partnering with IST's director of marketing and assistant dean for undergraduate programs, and exploring ways in which diversity program opportunities can be enhanced. Another responsibility of this office is to host the IST Diversity Committee, which brings together students, faculty, and staff to address community climate concerns.
The associate dean for Diversity Outreach and International Engagement also serves as a main contact for students, faculty, and staff who have concerns about sexual harassment: unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature that can be or is perceived to affect employment or grades or that creates a hostile environment.
For additional information about sexual harassment please see Policy PSU AD41 or contact Eileen Trauth. All conversations are kept confidential unless action is required.
