Graduate Programs

The Office of Graduate Programs is responsible for the administration of the Ph.D. and M.S. programs offered by IST, both of which are research-based degrees.

John Yen, associate dean for research and education, oversees our office. Mary Beth Rosson, professor of information sciences and technology and graduate program advisor, provides general support to graduate students, informing  them of policies, procedures, and program issues. She also assists in the setting of the candidacy examination for the Ph.D. program. Sherry Rogers provides administrative support, which includes managing student records and assisting prospective and continuing students.

The IST Graduate Faculty Advisory Committee, consisting of the professor in charge, the graduate program advisor, and four College of IST faculty members, provides recommendations to the associate dean for research and education regarding policies, course offerings, the candidacy examination, and other key issues relating to the graduate programs in the college.
