Undergraduate
The mission of the Office of Undergraduate Programs is to help students achieve their fullest academic potential and to foster their intellectual, professional, and personal growth.
We enable students to make informed decisions on the basis of their individual interests, abilities, values, and goals, and to become self-directed learners and decision makers as well as leaders in the IST and Penn State communities.
Although our academic counselors primarily work with IST undergraduates at University Park, they also provide academic counseling to IST students throughout the Penn State system and to anyone interested in IST and SRA programs regardless of college of enrollment.

Graduate
Graduate programs in IST were founded on a vision that values diversity of thought and expertise.
IST’s interdisciplinary and integrative approach applies the best thinking from a broad-ranging community to address the complex problems confronted by our society. Faculty members and graduate students here are engaged in multiple projects involving teams of colleagues with unique viewpoints to craft uncommon and innovative solutions.
We are committed to admitting and sustaining graduate students who represent diversity in all its aspects: intellectual, cultural, and individual. The result is a unique environment for learning and the development of your own research and teaching interests.

Career Solutions
IST’s Career Solutions team provides students with a comprehensive, high-tech resource center specific to the needs of IST students. We offer opportunities for self-initiated and/or one-on-one advising for career assessment, exploration, and planning. Students can make informed career decisions through tools that incorporate on-site learning, academic achievement, technical skills, and personal strengths and interests. Career Solutions also partners with employers to create opportunities for the placement of students in internships and professional, full-time positions.
